About

My work focuses on 'the moment.' Life presents moments that catch my eye, an event, a personality revealed, an emotion/experience shared, a memory recalled. In that instant this thought stirs - 'this should be painted'. Each painting conveys the story of a moment - even my portraits. My style of painting is best described as romantic realism - between impressionism and realism.
From early childhood I drew and painted winning second place in a national contest at age eight. My career in art began after retirement in 2008. My paintings have been in a solo show, many national exhibits and have received numerous awards. In 2016, ASMA honored my work with Signature membership status and in 2020, my artwork was included in the Art Renewal Center’s Living Artists Gallery, and I was honored as an ARC Associate Living Master™ (A.R.C.A.L.M.)
I enjoy teaching, conducting workshops and discussing art.
